Power Supply Recall Apex/Manik

What is being recalled?

This recall involves ATX Computer Power Supplies of varying wattages. Both Manik- and Apex-branded power supplies are affected.  The power supplies can be black or white, with “Apex” or “Manik” labels. The 450W, 750W, 1000W, and 1200W units are all part of the recall.

Why the recall?

The units lack the permanent, on-product warning label identifying potential electrical shock and electrocution hazards. if the unit is opened or disassembled. This condition could pose a risk of serious injury or death.

While the risk comes from users who may chose to open their power supplies to service or clean. While this practice is highly discouraged by the IT industry. These devices are still being recalled becuase they lack the warnings. Sarita Computers doesn’t sell these products so you need not worry. But you should still check your system if it affected by the recall. Affected models can be replaced by contacting APEX.
